An extremely efficient, fixed-frequency PWM control scheme enables high switching frequency. RT8015BGQW has low RDS(ON) of internal PWM switch, allows it to support up to 12A switching current and supports a wide range of input voltage from 2.7V to 5.5V. It is small enough to fit into most applications and is available in packages of SOT-23-6 and TSOT-23-6.The RT8015BGQW consists of an error amplifier and a power PWM control unit. The power PWM control unit generates the drive signals for the integrated power N-MOSFET switch. A 0.8V voltage reference provides a very accurate system regulation. The ON/OFF control allows the device to enter or exit power-saving mode.An internal current sense amplifier ensures excellent current regulation even under varying load conditions and temperature variations. Since the current regulation loop is based on an internal current sense amplifier, an external sense resistor is not required, thus further reducing system cost.The RT8015BGQW operates with an external power capacitor and an external inductor. Both input and output capacitor are required for system stability. An integrated soft start function removes inrush current and keeps device temperature rise to a minimum.Parallel configuration of two or more devices can provide output capacity up to 24A. These devices feature high efficiency and low ripple voltage at low cost and size.The RT8015BGQW can be used in many applications such as automotive electronic circuits, industrial control systems, telecom systems and consumer electronics. In automotive electronic circuit applications, the RT8015BGQW can be used for low-noise voltage regulation for car navigation systems, on-board LCD displays, automotive lighting systems and electric power steering.The RT8015BGQW employs a fixed switching frequency, peak current mode control with a frequency jittering circuit to reduce EMI radiation. A low minimum on-time of the internal power switch ensures a wide input voltage range and keeps stresses on the switch low. Additionally, the RT8015BGQW has a short circuit protection time that can be easily modified by user.The RT8015BGQW switching frequency is factory-programmed to ensure optimal system performance. The standard switching frequency is 700KHz, but can be programmed to 250KHz by setting the frequency select pin to L. Higher switching frequency such as 3MHz can be achieved by setting the frequency select pin to H.The excellent load and line transient response makes the RT8015BGQW suitable for a wide range of high-performance, high-efficiency DC/DC converter designs. To further improve the transient response of the device, the RT8015BGQW has oscillation frequency adjustment that allows the user to program the oscillation frequency of the device.RT8015BGQW features a low shutdown current of less than 1uA to enable easy power saving design, with high accurate enable/disable threshold voltage between 0.5V to 2.0V, making it suitable for wide range of applications.In summary, the RT8015BGQW is an adjustable , high-efficiency, low noise, cost-effective switching regulator ideal for a wide range of applications.
