RT8096CHGJ6 Working Principle

The principle of RT8096CHGJ6 is to use a switching current source to control the output voltage. In ON state, the switch will be set to high and the output capacitor will be charged up to the target voltage. When the voltage is high enough, the switch will be set to low and the output capacitor will be discharged. Hence, the output voltage is controlled in the average. The error amplifier input feedback signal will control the ON/OFF state of current source and make the voltage feedback signal balanced with required voltage. And the input undervoltage protection will prevent damage of IC due to sudden drop of input voltage.

Additionally, RT8096CHGJ6 includes a current limit circuit. This circuit uses external components to set the current limit point and the peak current limit detect signal will be output when peak current reaches the limit. Moreover, to increase the accuracy, RT8096CHGJ6 features temperature compensation that adjusts the feedback signal with temperature variation.
