SP706TEN-L is an innovative Integrated Circuits (IC) which provides enhanced features such as fault detection and reset control for power systems. It is an optimal choice for applications that require cost-effective solutions for controlling the system’s power sequentially. This IC combines protection, supervision and reset functionality in one package.</p><p>The SP706TEN-L application field focuses on combating overcurrent, overheating and heavy load Circuit protection systems for power supply and distribution system. It is an integrated reset controller and supervisor that provides power sequentially and system-level fault protection. SP706TEN-L is capable of controlling both the main power supply (12V/150mA) and an auxiliary power supply (5V/500mA) which is connected in parallel.</p><p>The working principle of SP706TEN-L is based on two independent current sources connected together. The two current sources are monitored independently and by utilizing accurate current measurement, this IC is able to measure and detect any differences between the two current sources. When the difference is too large, the IC will send out an alert signal to switch off the power supply. This feature is useful in preventing any over current faults. The IC also has additional features such as a real-time monitoring system, a noise detector and an analog-to-digital data converter.</p><p>SP706TEN-L is designed to enable protection for both load and power system protection. It is capable of detecting overvoltage, undervoltage, overcurrent, overtemperature and reverse supply voltage. The reset controller features of this IC allows for sequencing of the power supplies without the need for external initialization or reset circuitry. The reset controller can be programmed to a desired output level and it also incorporates a watch-dog function that enables it to restart the system if the power is interrupted or disconnected.</p><p>The SP706TEN-L is suitable for automated power systems that require a low power consumption and cost-effectiveness. It can be used as a power supply watchdog, power supply/distribution monitor, load protection and fault detection device.
