Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are widely used in electrical and electronic industries due to their advantages such as high capacitance, excellent electrical insulation and excellent temperature stability. The TE1309 is one of the most popular aluminum electrolytic capacitors among engineers and technicians. It is designed for applications in the power electronics, communications, LED lighting and consumer appliance industries.

The TE1309 is a double ended, axial leaded, surface-mount aluminum electrolytic capacitor. It has a high temperature cataphragm case which makes it ideal for high-temperature and harsh environments. The TE1309 is rated for operating temperatures from -40°C to +125°C. The voltage rating range is from 6.3V to 25V and the capacitance range is from 47µF to 2200µF. The TE1309 is also RoHS compliant.

The working principle of the TE1309 is based on the fact that when an electric field is applied to two electrodes in an electrolyte, charges are separated. This is known as an electrical double layer. This double layer creates an electrical capacitance between the electrodes. The TE1309 utilizes this effect to provide a capacitance between its two electrodes. The TE1309 uses an electrolyte to absorb the on-state current, thus increasing the capacitance value.

The TE1309 is commonly used in AC/DC switching power supplies, power factor correction (PFC) circuits, LED lighting and other high capacitance applications such as resonant inverters, audio and telecommunication systems. It is also the preferred capacitor in applications that require large capacitance values and high peak currents. Additionally, it is useful in high-voltage applications that cannot be served by Class X capacitors.

The TE1309 also has application in communications and consumer electronics. It is used in RF PA and I/O power supplies, FDDI and Optical Fiber networks, digital cameras, mp3 players, DVD players, and other electronic appliances. The TE1309 is particularly useful for high frequency applications and small-size PCBs due its high-speed switching capabilities.
