Working Principle of TOP222P

When the voltage decreases, it will discharge the gate of the MOSFET which results in the snubber circuit action. This reduces the transformerprimary current and helps to reduce the transformer core ringing. When the voltage increases, the TOP222P will start charging the gate of the MOSFET, resulting in a smooth waveform. This waveform is maintained until the maximal current is reached, which is controlled by the over-current protection.
