The UCC3585MTR is a DC to DC switching controller and a type of voltage regulator integrated circuit. Its line regulation is <5mV, load regulation is <5%, and its maximum output current can reach 5A with a minimum operating voltage of 6V. Moreover, with the constant on-time mode control, it is suitable for both fixed and adjustable switching frequencies, which makes it ideal for applications requiring both low profile and low-cost solutions.One of its main features is the ‘constant on-time mode’ in which the PWM comparator regulates current loops. In this mode, the PWM output is continuously compared with the ON Time signal which is generated by an integrator circuit. This comparison determines the ON Time signal output which is then fed to the output driver. This mode is suitable in applications that require high frequency switching, since the drive stage can be relatively simple and the switching frequency can be adjusted independently.Another important feature is the ‘Current Limit Mode’, which works by limiting the maximum peak current the switching MOSFETs can achieve. This feature can limit the peak current down to a specified level, or to an external signal, depending on the user’s needs.The UCC3585MTR is an advanced and highly efficient DC to DC switching controller.
