The capacitor consists of two metallic electrodes, both made from aluminium foil. A layer of oxide film is then formed on the aluminium foil. The film ensures that electric charges can be stored on the two metallic electrodes. An electrolyte film is also applied as a separator. This layer provides insulation and prevents the electrical charges from transferring from one aluminium foil to another.
