Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors make use of the electrical feature of an aluminum foil, for the purpose of energy storage and power delivery. They work on the same principle employed in electrolytic cells, which are able to capture and store electrical energy generated by chemical reactions. A positive and negative electrode are used as terminals, with the aluminum foil as the conductive element. An electrolyte is located between the two electrodes, and when a voltage is applied to the circuit, electrons move from the anode to the electrolyte.
