The 25LC160D-I/ST is a 16K, SPI bus serial EEPROM memory device. It can be used for storing data such as calibration constants, design parameters and user information. The 25LC160D-I/ST chip uses synchronous Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) for communication. The serial data transmission consists of a serial clock (SCLK), a serial input (SI) to load data from the master, and a serial output (SO) to shift data to the master. The 25LC160D-I/ST supports single- and double-byte instructions, including write status register, read status register, write data, read data, write disable, write enable and chip erase. The chip is divided into 32 pages, with each page having 512-bits of data. The 25LC160D-I/ST supports both sequential and random access modes.The 25LC160D-I/ST supports write protection levels on user-defined segments of the memory space. The write protect pin (WP) supports up to four memory segment write protection levels, while the software write protect feature (SWP) allows certain memory ranges to be protected from any write operation.
The 25LC160D-I/ST has a control register that can be used to control the operation of the device. It can be set to either normal or power-saving mode. In the power-saving mode, the chip consumes only 0.4µA when idle and 8µA when active. The power-up current is 400µA.
In addition, the device also supports an external voltage-sense pin (VS) to detect the supply voltage range. The sensing range is 0.9V to 5V. The device supports a reset pin (RST) to reset the device after a power-on or any other reset condition.
