Optoisolators with Triac, SCR outputs are widely used in various applications. The APT1222WAY is an optoisolator featuring an isolated Triac with a maximum load current of 6A and a turn-on time of 10µs. It is designed to drive Triac or SCR outputs with isolated high current in the load circuit. This device is well suited for use in a wide variety of applications such as solid state switching, current sensing, and control functions. It is also suitable for interfacing analog controls to digital input/output devices.
The APT1222WAY optoisolator features an integrated Triac which provides isolation with a maximum rating of 2.5kVrms/50Hz for 1 minute. The device consists of a high efficiency deep-UV LED and an integrated photo Triac with a trigger voltage of 600V. The LED has a minimum operating current of 3mA, which allows the device to be driven directly from a wide range of logic levels, including TTL, 8051, PIC microcontrollers, and other digital systems. The output of the optoisolator is a Triac which switches high load current upon receiving a digital signal from the LED.
The optoisolator is capable of driving a variety of Triac or SCR outputs with a maximum current of 6A. The device has a minimum turn-on time of 10µs and an off-state leakage current of 1mA. The device is also designed to meet the IEC 60950-1 safety standards for electronic equipment.
In most applications, the optoisolator is configured as shown in the figure below.
