The BD5355G-TR Power Management Integrated Circuit (PMIC) Supervisors are setting new standards for power management and energy efficiency in high-end consumer electronics, automotive, communications and computing applications. Built on advanced analog, digital and system-level integration, the BD5355G-TR delivers high accuracy and multiple system protection features while maximizing the efficiency of power conversion.
The BD5355G-TR is a 4-pin device designed to reduce board turmoil and provides high accuracy voltage monitoring in a tiny 1.6mm x 0.85mm package. It monitors and controls the main voltage and other precision-controlled voltages, protecting them from operating out of specification and eliminating the need for large and costly discrete components. As a result, the BD5355G-TR dramatically reduces the number of components needed on the current ‘19V’ battery power rail, which significantly reduces overall system cost, size and complexity.
The BD5355G-TR supports programmable power-on circuit, reset circuit, on/off startup warning and delay, and undervoltage and overvoltage monitoring. It offers a wide range of voltage and current setting ranges, broad input voltage range and low quiescent current consumption. Its flexible programming architecture and integrated system protect features make it a preferred choice for ultra-low power microprocessors and digital signal processors using advanced process nodes.
The BD5355G-TR has a unique Voltage monitored mode, IO pin mode and software monitored/controlled modes. Voltage monitored mode supports two-level voltage monitoring with adjustable hysteresis, in one, two and three-pin packages. It also has internal voltage monitor with very low power consumption and high accuracy. IO pin mode provides for ±40mV of hysteresis, in one, two and three-pin packages, and can be used for both reset and warning detection. The integrated software-monitored/controlled mode supports system management requirements, enabling various Power-on/Power-off functions, as well as delayed power-on/off processes and power-on/off detection.
The BD5355G-TR also supports fast response time and adaptive soft-start power supply ramp-up time, to prevent current dip conditions as the device starts up. It also has programmable ‘negative’ logic reset and power enabled inputs, and supports both input voltage and output voltage control. The device also features a two-level detection system, with first-level detection used for general warning and second-level detection for error reset.
The BD5355G-TR is a highly integrated, low power and small size PMIC Supervisors that simplifies supply chain management and reduces design complexity, making it the ideal solution for high current and high voltage applications. Its small size and low power consumption make it suitable for space-constrained applications, such as portable and wearable electronic devices. It is well suited for computing, communications and high end consumer electronic applications, delivering improved safety and energy efficiency while reducing overall system cost.
