DG212BDY-T1-E3 is a kind of interface - analog switch, multiplexer, demultiplexer. It is a two channel, low-voltage single-pole double-throw (SPDT) switch with enhanced noise immunity and an operating power supply range from ±2.7 V to ±18 V. With this device, signals can be transferred from one channel (input) to the other (output) with a low-distortion switching action.

The on-resistance (Ron) of the closed switch is about 1.1 Ω, the typical leakage current for the closed switch is only 0.04 µA and it can withstand an input voltage up to ±18 V. Also, the requested logic control is of 1.8V or 3.3V CMOS/TTL logic level. The device is characterized for operation at frequency up to 2 GHz (at Vss equal to 3V).

In order to make sure that the device works reliably and efficiently, it has an adequate depletion mode strength, an internal clamp network to protect the analog signal and separate logic supply that is provided internally. Additionally, the device has an additional TTL control signal to turn on or off the switch while allowing external control.

The working principle of the DG212BDY-T1-E3 is based on a bidirectional switch structure. Two signal inputs are connected to two active channels and two outputs are connected to a signal path. When the signal input changes, the switch state switches between two signal paths according to the logic control signal, and one of the two signal outputs is connected to the complementary signal input.
