PMIC - Gate Drivers

The FAN7384MX is an integrated single-phase full bridge gate driver developed by ON Semiconductor. It is particularly suitable for brushless DC motor drive applications and other power switch fields, providing a control signal for controlling the closing and opening of a half-bridge circuit composed of low-side and high-side PowerMOSTM power MOSFETs.

The FAN7384MX is powered by a 5V voltage from an external source and the half-bridge circuit can be used to control a voltage of up to 30V. The device also provides scalable deadtime and shoot-through prevention that can be adjusted with external resistors. The current limit protection feature of this device uses a unique adaptive control technique, which reduces the switching losses caused by dissipated current and hence prevents the device from overheating.

This device features I2C programmable dead-time control and provides a hardware enable pin with slew rate control logic to enable fast transition. It also allows users to assign latched and non-latched pin functions to the different external pins, making it suitable for various application scenarios. Other features include a built-in fault detection circuit to detect shoot-through faults, a decoupling capacitor for gate driver supply voltage, pull-up resistors for chip enable, inverting and non-inverting enable, and other output pins.
