TVS - Diodes
A Transient Voltage Suppressor (TVS) diode is an electronic device used to grant protection from overvoltage transients and is one of the key components of an electronic system. Working Principle

When the reverse-biased voltage across the diode exceeds a certain value (the breakdown voltage or clamp voltage), the diode conducts current and the enhanced junction capacitance of the diode starts to charge-up significantly.
Once the junction capacitance charges up, it can sustain an open-circuit voltage up to 30V. The junction capacitance also has the ability to discharge suddenly, allowing it to provide the ICTE10C-E3 a high breakdown voltage while still maintaining a low leakage current.
