The ICTE5-E3/54 TVS Diode is a popular protection device in the electrical industry. It is designed to protect electronic components such as equipment, system boards, and cables from excessive voltage, current or electrical transients. This can be done by either diverting the current away from the component or by dissipating it in the form of heat.The ICTE5-E3/54 is especially designed to protect against transient overvoltage pulses caused by electrostatic discharge (ESD), lightning, and motor switching. It features a high surge rating (up to 8kA), low capacitance (<1pF between pins) and fast response time (less than 1ns). It is suitable for a wide range of applications requiring voltage clamping protection.The device is typically used in applications such as telecom equipment, HVAC, instrumentation, medical systems, automotive and consumer electronic systems. It can protect the system from failure by blocking or diverting transient pulses that would otherwise damage the system components. The ICTE5-E3/54 is also capable of clamping both positive and negative transients. It can be used in both AC and DC circuits. The ICTE5-E3/54 has a maximum Peak Pulse Power Dissipation, Ppk, of 400 Watts. This rating indicates the maximum power the device can dissipate while in activation mode. The operating junction temperature of ICTE5-E3/54 should not exceed 150°C.The ICTE5-E3/54 is rated for a maximum let-through voltage of 8 volts. This rating indicates the maximum voltage that the device will allow to pass through it, when in activation mode.
