The IR2110S is a pin compatible and enhancement mode upgrade of the industry standard IR2110 gate driver IC. It eliminates the need for external bootstrap capacitors and delivers high speed, low capacitance and an optimised package for embedded power. It also has a low latency shut down for fault protection in critical applications. This device provides short-to-ground and short-to-supply protection to guarantee the reliability of power system design. It improves efficiency with a combination of maximum switching speed and low Radiated Emissions (EMI). It has integrated dead time and programmable oscillator function, which reduce the parts count and maximise reliability in high power applications. The IR2110S integrates two independent, high-current totem-pole outputs with a control circuit on a single monolithic chip. It provides both a high and low transient immunity during switching transitions. It also features internal pre-driver circuitry, which reduces the chance of shoot-through loss and gives smooth switching transitions. It is principally designed to drive any power device connected in a half or full bridge circuit. The IR2110S can be configured to be used as a single full output, two half-bridge outputs, or two three-level output configurations. It also provides protection from both short-to-ground and short-to-supply conditions and can be configured for 1A or 2A outputs.The IR2110S is ideal for chip-set or embedded power applications. It can be used to power automotive or consumer audio amplifiers. It can also be used in solar and wind energy converters and other renewable energy systems. It is compatible with both CMOS and LVDS logic systems and is capable of powering a wide range of microcontrollers. The IR2110S is a low power device and is offered in an industry-standard, 8-pin SOIC package. The pin outs are identical as the IR2110 and can be used to power either an NMOS or PMOS FET.
