ISL62391IRTZ-T Application Field and Working Principle

The ISL62391IRTZ-T is a Power Supply Controller, Monitor and Sequencer IC belonging to Texas Instruments’ PMIC (Power Management IC) family. The ISL62391IRTZ-T is a switch-mode power supply (SMPS) controller IC and is designed for single output synchronous DC-DC buck applications and is suitable for a wide range of power supplies. It provides very flexible control to suit various system configurations and uses advanced digital technology to improve power supply accuracy and stability.

Working Principle

The ISL62391IRTZ-T utilizes an MCU (microcontroller unit) in order to monitor and control a wide range of DC-DC converting operations. It features an internal voltage divider network and programmable feedback signal, which allows for detecting the output voltage and current levels. The information is passed to the MCU, which then uses a control loop in order to adjust the parameters of the power supply.
