It also helps with dynamic load balancing and current sharing, keeping the power and signal sensitive networks from experiencing excessive power supply and ground noise levels. This device limits the inrush current, providing load sharing split and dynamic voltage positioning, but also protects the connected power lines, systems and components from the effect of various overvoltage conditions, excessive current and insufficient power supply current.The ISL61853NCRZ-T includes a set of features such as:Hot Swap: This feature of the ISL61853NCRZ-T helps to protect systems against large inrush currents when devices are connected, while preventing the overwhelmed power supply and causing gradual load sharing among devices connected.Current Limiting: The current limiting protects the power supply from large currents by limiting them to a predetermined level.Dynamic Voltage Positioning: This feature protects vulnerable components from potential EMI by dynamically changing the voltage for each component connected.Overvoltage Protection: This feature of the ISL61853NCRZ-T protects against any overvoltage phenomenon and can be used in combination with the device\'s overvoltage protection (OVP).ISL61853NCRZ-T Application Field and Working PrincipleThe ISL61853NCRZ-T is highly suitable for industrial, automotive and consumer grade applications. The ISL61853NCRZ-T is also suitable for use in high power applications such as large power adaptors, telecom base stations and power supplies used in data centers.The ISL61853NCRZ-T uses an internal FET to perform the job of hot swapping. This device includes a voltage sense circuitry, over current shut down circuitry, the internal FET and an integrated error amplifier. The hot swap controller also provides support for autonomous and manual shut down. This allows the external user to control the inrush current evolution for different types of loads.The hot swap process works by setting the maximum inrush current level to a safe value, ensuring that the system will not experience overload when a sudden current surge occurs. To do this, the ISL61853NCRZ-T uses a voltage sense circuitry, the error amplifier module and the MOSFET, which will be turned ON to reduce the current flow until the pre-defined current limit is reached.Once the current limit is reached, the error amplifier will keep the FET ON until the power supply voltage reaches the predetermined safe level, degrading the current until the system can produce enough current to keep the load connected. After the power supply reaches this predefined safe level, the internal error amplifier will turn off the MOSFET, allowing the system to work normally again.In the case of overvoltage, the ISL61853NCRZ-T can detect when the voltage on either of the two power lines is beyond a pre-defined value. When this level is detected, the internal error amplifier and the MOSFET within the ISL61853NCRZ-T will open, disconnecting the device from the power supply and resulting in a temporary power outage.Overall, the ISL61853NCRZ-T is a very reliable device that can protect sensitive systems from overload and overvoltage conditions, and will provide the best in current-limiting, load sharing and dynamic voltage positioning capabilities, significantly improving the overall quality and performance of applications.
