IXBH20N300 is a short form of Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor, a semiconductor device with both bipolar junction transistor and field-effect transistor characteristics. It belongs to the “Single” type of Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor, or IGBTs.
IGBTs are a type of transistors used for controlling currents in power electronics systems for industrial and commercial applications. Their key feature is the voltage blocking capability in either direction. For example, IXBH20N300 can block 800V reverse blocking for one second, which is usually enough for many power applications. IGBTs are highly efficient and cost effective solutions for controlling electric power.

On the other hand, when the gate voltage is high, the collector and emitter current flow, and the transistor is in the on state. In order to drive the transistor properly, the gate voltage should be adjusted and applied as needed.
