• Working Principle of LM5034MTC

  The LM5034MTC operates on the principle of Peak Current Mode Control (PCM). In PCM control, the average output current is controlled by sampling the peak current of the inductor, which is determined by the on-time and the current-sense voltage. This ensures fast, stable and accurate control of the output current and helps reduce output noise. The LM5034MTC is designed to be a flexible and highly efficient PCM controller, providing advanced features such as soft-start, line feed-forward, peak current limit, and advanced loop response adjustment.

  The LM5034MTC features an integrated MOSFET driver for both high-side and low-side switches, which can provide up to 7A peak push-pull drive current. The high-side MOSFET driver offers internal under-voltage lockout (UVLO), output discharge signaling, short circuit protection and current limit. The low-sideMOSFET driver offers current sense and fault protection. The internal charge pump allows the LM5034MTC to drive an external N-channel MOSFET in high-side switch with no external components. This makes the design fast and simple.

  The programmable deadtime control feature allows efficient optimization of the switching frequency and provides improved design flexibility and improved EMI performance. The on-time compensation feature allows the compensation of the output voltage drop caused by the input voltage deviations and improves system stability.
