The LM5041MTCX integrated circuit (IC) combines multiple functions and features, including Accurate and stable auto-zero current sensing, Wide range of enabling/disable/reset options, Built-in digital soft start and voltage sequencing functions, Internal over-temperature and over-voltage protection, Internal bias voltage generator and output current limiting.

Working Principle

The LM5041MTCX is a monolithic synchronous buck PWM controller, when providing an enable signal it runs the converter by producing an output voltage that is proportional to a selectable internal current source. The LM5041MTCX can be programmed to display a wide range of operating parameters, including the output voltage, switching frequency, and control loop unity gain frequency.

The switching frequency can vary between 250kHz and 5MHz, in fixed or adjustable frequency modes. The current limit and peak current limit values can be programmed via a resistor divider from the load side, operating over a wide range of levels.
