LM5119PSQE/NOPB Application Field and Working Principle

The LM5119PSQE/NOPB device is a P-channel buck synchronous controller designed for highest-accuracy, peak-power-tracking, synchronous step-down regulator. The device operates at frequencies up to 1 MHz, and operates with external P-channel MOSFETs and PNP transistors to achieve the highest speeds and lowest costs. The LM5119PSQE/NOPB supports two modes of operation—high-evolution rate tracking mode (HERE) and fixed-frequency pulse-width modulation (PWM).

Working Principle:

It uses a high-evolution rate tracking (HERE) mode of control to achieve fast transient response and tight current regulation. It also supports fixed-frequency PWM mode control.

The HERE mode uses a high-speed adaptive control loop which accurately tracks peak current.
