Working Principle

LM5141QRGETQ1 is a synchronous rectified buck/boost controller with a wide range of input and output voltage options. It is based on a free-time control architecture which combines advantages of both the peak current mode and the valley current mode for better performance. Free-time control gives maximum efficiency over the full load range and features an adjustable PWM frequency for improved EMI emissions. The control scheme also provides a fast transient load response and excellent current limiting performance. The device features an adaptive peak current adjustment, which automatically determines the optimum peak current level for best possible efficiency.

The power save mode of the controller enables the switching frequency to be automatically adjusted for optimal efficiency.
