The LM9061MX/NOPB is a 3A, high-current, low side, logic-level, non-inverting, HV Bootstrap Shoot-Through protection Gate Drive designed specifically for modern high power IGBT and power MOSFET transistors. This gate driver was designed with several innovative features to safeguard power FETs and MOSFETs from destructive shoot-through currents, short-circuit current limiting and a minimum gate resistance of less than 5 ohms. The LM9061MX/NOPB is a complete Plug-and-Play, isolated transformer isolated gate driver which includes a logic input stage and an integrated, high-side/low-side drive circuit. It features temperature-independent current control, overvoltage protection and minimum component count for fast and easy design. The LM9061MX/NOPB is ideal for applications such as DC/DC convertors, switching power supplies, motor drive and motion control, high-power amplifiers, digital power supplies and other power electronics applications.
This 3A load capacity Gate Drive is ideal for applications where very low gate drive resistance is desired and maximum current handling is a must. It also allows users to apply intermediate gate drive voltages with improved efficiency. The LM9061MX/NOPB is also allows for more efficient and flexible voltage control to enable improved overall efficiency performance. The LM9061MX/NOPB provides adjustable control current, short-circuit protection, overvoltage protection and an adjustable output voltage level. The turn-on/off time can be adjusted to adjust the rise/fall time of the Gate Drive.
The typcal applications include motor control and drives, power transformers, induction motor variable speed drives, switched-mode power supplies, inverters, UPS, DC-DC converters, high-power amplifiers, and digital power supplies. The LM9061MX/NOPB supports a wide operating temperature range from -40°C to +125°C, which is suitable for most commercial, industrial and automotive applications.
The LM9061MX/NOPB features a logic stage which provides the gates of the power MOSFETs and IGBTs with the necessary voltage levels to switch them on and off. This gate driver integrates a high-side/low-side field effect transistor (FET) drive circuit with a control logic stage that eliminates the need for an external FET driver. This eliminates the need for extra components, reducing system size, while providing excellent current control and low EMI emission.
The working of LM9061MX/NOPB is based on the logic input stage and integrated high-side/low-side drive circuit. The logic input stage features an adjustable current limit that allows the user to reduce or eliminate the shoot-through currents of either of the IGBTs/MOSFETs.
