MAX1909ETI+ is a PMIC - Battery Charger application which provides a fully integrated, low-cost solution for portable applications. This battery charger solution includes a linear wall adapter preregulator, a synchronous buck battery charger, a high-accuracy fuel gauge, an adjustable current-limit system, a current-sense amplifier for varying charger output current, an integrated system controller, and an I2C/SMBus interface. It is designed for charging Li-Ion, Li-Polymer, and NiMH batteries from 5V USB and wall adapter power sources.
The system controller has advanced features for battery charging, including temperature-dependant charging, under-voltage protection, battery temperature-threshold protection, charge safety timers, and pre-charge limits.
