The charge algorithm provides an integrated, highly efficient and safe charging profile to maximize battery life, while providing quick and highly adjustable charge speed, including trickle charge, boost charge and current limiting charge. Additionally, the device offers two profiles for fast-charging, constant current and constant voltage. The device also offers adjustable charge termination and safety protection. This device is designed to provide excellent thermal stability and offer maximum current for a small form factor implementation. In order to maximize the performance of the MCP73213-A6SI/MF, multiple safety features are built in, including over temperature and over voltage protection.
