The N25Q064A13ESFD0F series, released by Micron Technology, is a 64M-bit (8M-byte) SPI NOR Flash memory device. It adopts the industry-standard 4-wire serial peripheral interface (SPI) protocol and provides advanced write protection features. N25Q064A13ESFD0F series is widely used in consumer electronics, industrial automation, automotive and IoT applications. By delivering increased memory densities and improved program/erase performance in a cost-effective Flash solution, the N25Q064A13ESFD0F provides a viable alternative to high-density parallel Flash solutions. It is available in 8-pin SOIC (150 mil), 8-ball BGA, 8-pin WSON, 6-pad UDFN, and 8-pin VFBGA packages. The N25Q064A13ESFD0F series offers fast random read and write abilities. The maximum serial clock frequency is 104 MHz. The fast read performance of this series supports data transfer rates from 50 MHz to 83 MHz. It can read 0.3 μs per word at 83 MHz and 0.4 μs per word at 50 MHz. The fast write ability of the N25Q064A13ESFD0F series provide an advantage over parallel NOR devices. It supports a maximum write speed of 50 μs/byte using the boost write mode. With up to 8 MByte density and fast reads/writes, this series offers increased memory ength and performance with lower pin count and complexity when compared to parallel NOR solutions. The N25Q064A13ESFD0F series has a variety of protection features like sector protection and block protection. The sector protection scheme gives users the ability to protect each of the 8M-bit sectors using a single sector mask register. It also features the “unprotect all” feature, which disables the protection in the entire device. The N25Q064A13ESFD0F series also has a quad I/O fast read capability. With Quad I/O, the maximum clock frequency can reach up to 104 MHz, reducing read time from 16 nS to 4 nS. The N25Q064A13ESFD0F series has multiple types of commands to increase programming performance. The program suspend command saves time in writing large amounts of data, and the reset command can reset electricity or reset the device. There is also a status register used to maintain detailed information about the device. The N25Q064A13ESFD0F series operates on a single voltage of 1.8V. It consumes only 4 mA of current in active mode and 4 μA of current in standby mode. Also, it has an automatic power-down mode and a deep power-down mode to further reduce power consumption. This series has a max write endurance of 10,000 cycles making it suitable for a wide range of applications. Overall, the N25Q064A13ESFD0F series is a cost effective and reliable storage solution for various embedded applications such as consumer electronics, industrial automation, automotive and IoT.
