RS1GTR Discrete Semiconductor Products

A RS1GTR is an integrated silicon rectifier with single-phase (or true single) full-bridge configuration. It can be used for various applications requiring input power of up to 1000 V, up to 7 A r.m.s. and up to 1.73 kW. This device is usually used for power cycling, AC power line conditioning, and line loss compensation.

The RS1GTR has two integrated circuit (IC) components: a full-wave bridge diode and an adjustable current limit resistor. The full-wave bridge diode acts to rectify AC input power and produce a continuous waveform voltage. The current limit resistor is adjusted to adjust the rectified current to a desired level. The RS1GTR can be used as a soft-start circuit, as a noise filter, and as a power supply regulator. It can also be used to provide pulsed DC power, or to provide a single-phase AC power source.

The RS1GTR operates in two states. In the full-wave rectification state, it permits current to flow in both directions through the bridge diode. In the current limit state, the bridge diode is turned off and the current limit resistor is adjusted to limit the output current according to the amplitude of the input voltage. The RS1GTR is designed for failure rates indicated in the IEC-60529 standard and is rated to withstand peak power transients up to six kilovolts (6 kV) peak. It also has over temperature ruggedness which ensures long-term reliability. The RS1GTR includes a high temperature shutdown feature to protect against permanent damage in the event of prolonged high temperature operation. The device operates in the temperature range of -25°C to 85°C.
