TVS (Transient Voltage Suppressors), also known as surge protectors, are devices designed to protect electrical equipment from extreme voltage surges. The SM8S16-E3/2D is available in two packages, the S08-E3/2D-H1 (8-Pin SOP) and the S20-E3/2D-H1 (20-Pin SOP). It is characterized by a 400W peak pulse power dissipation, a low clamping voltage, low leakage current, and a fast response time. Its 8A maximum hold current ensures reliable operation in high current applications, and its low capacitance minimizes EMI/RFI noise interference. In addition, the SM8S16-E3/2D is RoHS compliant.
The SM8S16-E3/2D is an ideal solution for protecting circuits from high voltage transients such as in consumer electronics, automotive, industrial, telecom and medical systems.
