SPB08P06P Application Field and Working Principle The SPB08P06P is a single-level, medium power enhancement-mode field-effect transistor (FET) made by Powerex Inc. It has been designed to be self-protected against over-voltage, over-current and over-heat, as a result of its increased drain-source on-resistance.The working principle of the SPB08P06P is based on the field-effect transistor (FET) principle. Its FET section has a N-Channel Field Effect Transistor (FET) that acts as a switching device between the source and drain. This allows it to control the current flow between the two terminals.In operation, the SPB08P06P is operated as shown in Figure 1. The gate of the FET is connected to a voltage supply and is used to vary the current between the source and drain terminals.
