The STF715 is an NPN bipolar junction transistor (BJT) designed to deliver high-performance, low-power operation in a variety of single-stage amplifying applications. It is offered with an avalanche-capable breakdown voltage rating as high as 80V, making it well-suited for use in power amplification circuits with high gain and moderate power demands. The device is rated for a maximum collector current of 1.0A and a maximum power dissipation of 0.5W. It features a low input capacitance of 0.2pF and a low on-state voltage drop of 0.0015V.

The STF715 is designed to offer high gain, low noise, and high reliability. The working principle of the STF715 is based on the basic zone depletion model of a bipolar device. As electrons are excited from the base to the collector, they create an electric field that decreases gradually from the base-collector junction outward. This field causes the electrons to be attracted to both the collector and the base regions, thus allowing for current flow in both directions.

The STF715 has an operating temperature range of -55°C to +125°C, and is available in TO-220 and TO-92 packages. Its low input capacitance and high gain make it an ideal choice for low-cost, high-performance amplifier designs. Its wide operating temperature range, in addition to its robustness, make it suitable for use in automotive, industrial, and consumer electronic applications.
