TL2844DR-8 is an ultra-low power pulse-width-modulation (PFM) DC/DC converter IC with integrated switching regulators. These high-efficiency ICs offer many features to facilitate user-friendly designs. The device is integrated with multiple switching regulators that can be reconfigured to provide up to 6 regulator output voltages, eliminating the need for external voltage regulators.

Working Principle

The TL2844DR-8 is composed of a 200V gate driver, four independent low-side gate drivers, two NPN gate drive transistors, two P Channel gate drive transistors, a high-gain current-mode pulse-width-modulation (PFM) controller, three reference voltage generators, a low-dropout regulator, and a loop comparator.

The TL2844DR-8 uses a high-gain current-mode PFM controller that operates in continuous current mode (CCM). The PFM controller is used to maintain the output voltage within a certain range and thereby regulate the output. The PFM controller also has a built-in soft-start feature that prevents output voltage overshoot during startup.
