Working Principle

TL2845BD integrates a PWM (pulse width modulation) controller, high-side and low side MOSFETs, and two high performance low distortion current sense amplifiers for regulation of both output current and voltage. The device operates in a buck-boost mode and it is able to accept wide input voltage range from 5V to 150V. Once the PWM controller receives an input voltage and/or a current control signal, it will then generate an output voltage/current and adjust the frequency and/or voltage to keep these at the desired levels.The driver is capable of operating at switching frequency up to 800kHz with a maximum duty cycle of 90%, allowing it to drive them with a high efficiency and low noise. The driver incorporates a number of protection features such as frequency synchronization, thermal protection, under-voltage lockout, and over-voltage−protection.TL2845BD features over-current protection that is implemented either by a current limit threshold or an over-current monitor. This protects the device from excessive current caused by a short circuit and significantly reduces power dissipation.
