Working Principle of TOP244PN

The TOP244PN operates on Push-Pull, Secondary-side Controller and HVIC technology. It regulates the output voltage of the primary-side synchronous rectifier clamp and bridge rectifier with a low-cost sense output control and feedback comparator. The control circuit generally consists of an oscillator, a PWM (pulse width modulation) operation calculator, a current sense amplifier and a comparator. The oscillator\'s output signal is sent to the PWM calculator and compared to an error amp\'s feedback voltage. Whenever the voltage difference exceeds a given level, the comparator sends a signal to the PWM calculator, limited by the maximum output voltage. The PWM calculator then drives the primary-side rectifier with a corresponding duty cycle and voltage, allowing the secondary-side control stage to supply the correct voltage at the output.
