The UCC35705EVM board allows users to use a wide variety of DC/DC and AC/DC SMPS applications, such as basic switch-mode power supplies (SMPSs), LED driver circuits, automotive engine start circuits, off-line converter circuits, and various other AC/DC or DC/DC converter circuits. With the addition of additional components, the freedom to create custom SMPS circuits is also made available.

The UCC35705EVM board consists of an integrated circuit (IC) – the UCC35705 – which is a fixed frequency flyback controller IC. The UCC35705 IC is a voltage-mode control oscillator that operates with a 1 MHz switching frequency and can control a range of power conversion outputs including DC/DC full bridge, DC/DC half bridge, DC/DC buck and AC/DC buck converter topologies. The UCC35705 IC’s voltage-mode control operation increases dimming range while its 1 MHz switching frequency eliminates the need for any external components for frequency control.

The UCC35705EVM evaluation board also includes two separate test points that allow users to measure the output voltage, output current, and switching frequency of the UCC35705. This allows for an easy testing process and eliminates the need for any additional test or measurement equipment. Furthermore, the UCC35705EVM can also be used as a reference design board for prototyping any custom SMPS designs.
