2N6546 is a widely used advanced bipolar transistor, especially in devices of low voltage and high efficiency, like low voltage devices, such as switched-mode power supply, switching, power converters and inverters implementations. It is a PNP device with a maximum voltage of 110V, an average collector current rating of 150mA and an average multiple collector current rating of 0.5A. This is also known as the current gain, and it is affected by two influencing factors- the width of the gate diodes and the emitter current. In general, the current gain is increased by increasing the emitter current and decreasing the width of the gate diode.2N6546 transistors are commonly used in VHF radio receivers where they provide gain by amplifying the signal from the first stage detector to the base of the next stage.
