AO7414 is a high-voltage, high-speed switching MOSFET. It uses a proprietary process which enhances its current carrying capability and delivers low gate charge, low Miller charge and extremely fast switching response times. AO7414 can be used in a wide range of applications from high-current switching, to power management and motor control. Application Field

AO7414 MOSFET is mainly used in high-current switching applications. It can be used in applications where high-current load control is required such as motor control and power management. The device can also be used in audio amplifiers and mixers as well as in various logic level applications such as driver circuits, audio preamps, and power supplies. Additionally, AO7414 is suitable for very high-frequency DC-DC conversion and the design of power efficient switching systems.

Working Principle

AO7414 is a high-voltage, high-speed switching MOSFET. It is composed primarily of two components, the source and the drain. When an electric field is applied to the device, electrons (positive charges) will flow from the source to the drain. This flow of electrons creates an electric current which controls the switching functions of the MOSFET. The drain voltage (Vds) controls the flow of current, and the gate voltage (Vgs) controls the switching of the device.

When the gate voltage (Vgs) is left at the threshold voltage, the drain voltage (Vds) controls the flow of current through the device. As the drain voltage increases, the current flowing through the device increases. However, when the voltage at the gate is increased above the threshold voltage, the device is said to be “ON” and it allows maximum current flow through it. This mechanism allows AO7414 to operate very fast and efficiently.

In addition to this, AO7414 is a normally off device, meaning that even with zero gate voltage (Vgs) the device will not allow current flow through it. This makes it a very low power device which is ideal for power management applications where power dissipation is critical.
