Memory

The CY7C1423KV18-300BZXCT is a high-speed, low-power SRAM core intended for use in FPGA-based designs. It provides 0.1 to 1.2V Vdd operation with a maximum operating frequency of 300MHz. The device is offered in 2.0 to 2.2V Vtt configurations for improved noise margin, and up to two of the I/O banks can be dedicated to Vref support. The CY7C1423KV18-300BZXCT SRAM core is a full moon, dual-port memory architecture. The memory core is configurable in size up to 16Kbits, and up to four banks are supported, each with four independent address and data interfaces. Each address and data port can have configurable timing delays, and the I/O banks can also be used for signal integrity improvement.

Working Principle

Each port can have its own address and data masks, enabling each port to access different portions of the same memory. The device has an adjustable input/output bus width of 8, 16, or 32 bits, and can support wide data or byte masking operations. A built-in timing control unit configures the delays on both ports and maintains synchronization between ports.The CY7C1423KV18-300BZXCT supports internal and external Vref support. The device is offered in 2.0 to 2.2V Vtt configurations for improved noise margin, and up to two of the I/O banks can be dedicated to Vref support. The dedicated Vref supply pins can be connected directly to a capacitor or a resistor/capacitor network to provide an external reference voltage that can be adjusted to the desired voltage level. It has a low static power option which reduces the power consumption to 100umW, and a self-refresh mode which reduces the power consumption to 0.5 umW .The device also incorporates advanced power supply sequencing, power management, and clock spreading techniques to increase system performance and reduce power consumption.Finally, the CY7C1423KV18-300BZXCT provides flexible core clocking for both ports, allowing the designer to use different clock domains for each port. The device supports clock scaling, allowing the port-to-port clock frequencies to be adjusted to optimize performance. The device also provides a dual-clock buffer option which allows both ports to be clocked using the same clock source.
