The CY7C65211A-24LTXI, released by Cypress Semiconductor Corporation, is a USB 2.0 Full-Speed physically-based controller. It is an all-in-one Full-Speed solution providing low-level speed control, operating power and transceiver functions without the need for a dedicated PHY chip.
CY7C65211A-24LTXI application fields mainly include USB compliance and integrated printer solutions, allowing for for true plug-and-play capability meeting the latest USB specification. It is a single chip solution for high-speed data communication and is capable of handling data transfer rates of up to 480 Mbps.
This all-in-one chip features an integrated crystal oscillator and on-the-fly clock stretching, providing a low system cost, low power consumption and a complete transmit/receive solution, without the need for any external PHY.
The 24LTXI is also designed to support multiple operating systems, including Windows 8.1/8/7/Vista/XP and Mac OSX. It is also certified for use with USB peripherals such as hubs, printers and scanners.
The CY7C65211A-24LTXI is a bus-powered USB2.0 full-speed physical layer controller, based on the popular CY7C65211A-24SXI design. It is designed to integrate the logic functions required for low-speed, full-speed and high-speed USB serial communication. The 24LTXI also provides on-chip data rate selectable Full-Speed buffer and Serial Interface Engine (SIE).
The physical layer transceiver supports Low Speed, Full Speed and High Speed USB transfers. It is also compliant with USB 1.1 and USB 2.0 specifications. It can be used with standard resistive and capacitive revents networks that meet USB-IF requirements. The CY7C65211A-24LTXI supports the latest USB 2.0 functions including CRC5/CRC16 error correction, bit stuffing, and split transactions.
The 24LTXI is capable of providing true plug-n-play capability and is designed with power-saving features such as wakeup events and selective suspend. It supports on-chip wakeup calibration and wakeup through protected GPIOs for device wake-up with minimal external components.
The internal memory can be programmed with up to eight endpoints, in addition to two standard endpoints for control transfers. The 24LTXI supports dynamic endpoint reassignment and automatic creation of new endpoints. It also supports the USB Mass Storage Class.
In addition, the chip offers low operating power, high ESD performance, and provides integral protection to USB pins. It offers integrated ESD protection with no external components required, and can provide incredibly robust protection against electrostatic discharges up to 10 KV on both the USB lines.
The 24LTXI supports in-system programming (ISP) which enables a firmware to be developed without the need for a programmer. This convenient feature facilitates quick testing of the product. The device also supports remote wakeup, self powered devices, and softconnect-a feature which allows the device to power up in less than ten milliseconds.
The CY7C65211A-24LTXI provides an extensible and cost-effective solution for applications requiring data transfer speeds of up to 480 Mbps, and USB compliance.
