The CY7C9689A-AXI is a multifunctional USB-to-bus bridge chip designed to convert USB signals to any protocol-specified interface, providing a single master controller for the USB bus. Using the AXI protocol - the Advanced eXtensible Interface - the chip can convert USB host signals to various peripherals including I2C, SPI and UART buses. The bridge bridge includes an integrated USB 2.0 transceiver and four data lines, allowing the chip to support multiple USB 2.0 high-speed and low-speed host and device ports. In addition, the device supports a high-speed 480 Mbps PHY with up to four host ports, as well as low-speed and full-speed ports. The design of the CY7C9689A-AXI was developed by Cypress Semiconductor Corporation.
The CY7C9689A-AXI supports a range of applications, including wireless charging, embedded memories, and external storage. Wireless charging solutions, for example, benefit from the chip\'s ability to quickly and cost-effectively convert an analog USB signal from a host control device into a digital I2C protocol for powering and controlling a wireless power source.
