Gate drivers are essential for controlling power devices such as MOSFETs and IGBTs. The LM5100SD/NOPB is a high-performance full-bridge gate driver for controlling a broad range of power devices including MOSFETs, IGBTs, and bipolar transistors. Application Field
The LM5100SD/NOPB is well-suited for applications requiring full-bridge control such as motor drives, DC-DC converters, and solar energy systems. The LM5100SD/NOPB allows for two different modes of operation: Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) and Three-Phase PWM mode for inverter applications. It accepts 15V–50V operating voltage and can provide up to 2A of output current for driving power devices. Working Principle

The high side of the device is driven by the high-side control inputs, ENL and ENH, while the low side is turned on through the low-side gate control input. The shoot-through protection feature prevents the simultaneous conduction of both MOSFETs and IGBTs, preventing damage to the power system.
The adjustable gate precharge current feature adjusts the gate precharge current according to the application requirements which improves system performance by reducing power loss and efficiency. The low jitter operation feature ensures that the switching waveforms are smooth with minimal ripple and jitter, resulting in a lower level of high-frequency emissions.
