The internal register memory of the device allows the user to control the operating frequency and the output power dynamically.Working PrincipleThe LNK306DN works by using different internal conversion techniques to convert an AC input voltage to a DC output voltage. It does this using a single stage synchronous buck switching converter. The working principle of the converter is simple. When an AC voltage is applied at its input, the device starts to charge the output capacitor. When the output capacitor is completely charged, the device turns off the MOSFET switch and the device goes into standby mode. When the current drops below a certain level, the device turns on the MOSFET switch and begins to discharge the capacitor. This cycle repeats as long as an AC voltage is applied at its input.It also has two fault protection circuits, which are a Constant Current Limit and a Thermal Shutdown Circuit. The constant current limit sets a limit on the current that can pass through the device which prevents damage to the device due to over-current.
