The LNK3204G-TL is a monolithic integrated low-power offline switch designed for high-efficiency, low-power and power-save applications. The device integrates numerous functions including an internal start-up switch and protected circuitry for overvoltage, undervoltage, overload and overtemperature protection.It also features auto-restart and frequency jittering for improved efficiency and noise reduction.The device can be operated from a wide range of AC line voltages from 80VAC to 305VAC and optimizes converters\' efficiency at full load (up to 98%).

Working principle
The LNK3204G-TL is a general-purpose monolithic integrated low-power offline switch suitable for AC/DC converters and offline-switchers applications. It integrates the following features:
• Start-up Switch - The device integrates an internal start-up switch to ensure accurate operation at Start-up
• Fault Reaction - Internal detection of input over/under-voltage, overload and overtemperature conditions will simultaneously trigger the fault reaction
• Auto-restart - The device can be configured to automatically retry once a fault condition is detected and then reset
• Frequency Jittering - This feature allows the device to automatically adjust the switching frequency in steady-state to optimize the converter\'s efficiency and reduce emissions
• Low Standby Power Consumption - The device\'s low power consumption in no-load standby mode allows the user to optimize their design for the lowest possible power consumption
• Compact Packaging - The compact package of the device allows for its use in space-constrained applications where larger packages would not fit.
The LNK3204G-TL also includes a High Voltage Sense (HVS) circuit to allow the user to easily configure the device\'s undervoltage lockout (UVLO) trip level. This feature allows the device to operate with a wide range of AC line voltages, allowing it to be used in a variety of different applications.
In addition, the LNK3204G-TL also includes two protection circuits which can be used to provide over-current and over-temperature protection. The over-current protection circuit triggers a fault when the current exceeds the selected threshold for a certain duration, thus preventing damage to the application. The over-temperature protection circuit triggers a fault when the device\'s temperature exceeds the selected threshold, ensuring the device remains within the required temperature range.
The device features a soft start mode which, when enabled, will gradually increase the power output over a few switching cycles. This reduces the peak inrush or in-rush current, improving the overall system performance. The LNK3204G-TL also includes various options to provide excellent transient response, as well as noise reduction and EMI mitigation.
