Transient Voltage Suppressors (TVS) are used to suppress high voltage or current surges in a wide range of applications. The MAP5KE16AE3 is a unidirectional surface mount PIN TVS diode array. It provides superior protection against negative transients from lightning, switch noise, spikes, and any electrical spikes from outside sources. The device is designed to replace multiple high-voltage components in typical AC or DC lightning protection systems. It provides effective protection for a wide range of equipment including trucks, buses, computer systems, and medical devices.

The MAP5KE16AE3 consists of sixteen 5.0V zener diodes connected in parallel in a 8-pin package. The device has an on-board silicon oxide passivated junction structure to protect against electrical overstress. It has an ultra-low capacitance to ensure a low voltage clamping level. It provides an extremely low forward voltage drop for optimal dynamic response, while preventing reverse current flow during normal operation. The device has an ESD rating of up to 25kV Human Body Model for superior protection against Electro-Static Discharge.
