TVS - Diodes is a type of electronic components that provides protection against electrical overvoltage or transient voltage. MAP5KE5.0CA is a specifically designed transient voltage suppressor (TVS) diode which is an ultra-small package, high-performance protection, suitable for ESD and lightning strikes. This diode can handle high surge power up to 7.1 kA, which works in an environment voltage range from 6V to 200V.
MAP5KE5.0CA offers protection against transient voltage surges such as Electrostatic Discharge (ESD), Electrical Fast Transient (EFT) and surges caused by lightning strike. It provides dual-line protection to the equipment and confidential data, protecting sensitive circuitry from damage caused by overvoltage in applications such as consumer electronics, automotive, computing, networking, industrial and medical.
The working principle of MAP5KE5.0CA is based on its inherent characteristics that enable it to sense an overvoltage condition and then the junction rapidly conducts current, diverting surge current away from the protected circuit. When the voltage decreases, its internal structure prevents it from reverse recovery. Usually, it integrates PN junction with special structures that can absorb high overvoltage. It has the capability to absorb many surge power without suffering from destruction
MAP5KE5.0CA is well known for its ultra small package with maximum height of 0.80 mm, which is ideal for ultra slim products and portable devices. It is very cost effective and provides superior ESD, EFT and surge protection products that meet the required industry standards. It is a low cost solution for circuit protection from human body electrostatic discharge (ESD) to air discharge (15KV), as recommended by standard IEC 61000-4-2. It also provides improved ESD protection up to 8KV for contact discharges according to IEC 61000-4-2 as well as ITU-T & Telcordia GR-1089-CORE surge ratings.
MAP5KE5.0CA can protect sensitive circuits from damage, due to high voltage transients, caused by ESD, EFT and lightning surge. It is designed to be used in harsh environment and has high surge capability and low clamping voltage. It is suitable for various power supplies, automotive systems, and communication systems that require high surge current pulses up to 7.1 kA.
The wide operating temperature range of -55℃ to 155 ℃ makes MAP5KE5.0CA an optimal choice for customers who have to operate in a wide range of temperatures. What’s more, its low power consumption and low insertion loss reduce the power consumption of the protected product. All in all, MAP5KE5.0CA offers high performance, robust protection, and cost-effective solutions for a wide range of applications.
