This battery charger offers an excellent power/efficiency ratio and it is used in applications that require maximum efficiency with minimal space. The uses of this battery charger include charging of lithium ion, LiPo, and LiFePO4 battery cells, as well as having the capability to charge multiple cell batteries. The MCP73833-NVI/MF battery charger is suitable in applications where a space efficient design is required, such as in a tablet computer, consumer or industrial equipment, or in certain specialized medical applications. The charger is also suitable for powering medical devices and other emergency applications, such as emergency lighting and off-grid operations.Working Principle:The MCP73833-NVI/MF battery charger operates on a regulated, Poly-Phase Battery Charging algorithm. This algorithm allows the charger to charge a battery quickly, safely, and efficiently. It also protects the battery from overcharging and overheating. The charger is capable of charging lithium ion, LiPo, and LiFePO4 battery cells and can also charge multiple cell batteries when connected in parallel. It has a built-in current up to 2A and voltage up to 4.2V.
