It is based on the MCP73871 fully-integrated charger chipset, intended for use in space-limited, portable applications, where high-accuracy current and voltage regulation is necessary.

The device is enabled when the Enable pin is driven high, the charge cycle starts upon input of the supply voltage, and the Charge Status pins indicate the Charge Status.
