NUCLEO-L476RG Application Field and Working Principle

NUCLEO-L476RG is an evaluation board based on STMicroelectronics’ STM32L476RGTx microcontroller (MCU). NUCLEO-L476RG built-in STM32L4 Series microcontroller comes with a rich set of embedded peripherals, which can be used to quickly develop a wide range of applications in the MCU, DSP, Embedded and other fields.The NUCLEO-L476RG development board includes many features, including an Arduino Uno V3’s expansion connector; two LEDs and a 32.768kHz crystal oscillator. It also includes an ST-LINK utility for connecting an external debugger, two user buttons, and a potentiometer for controlling the power supply of the board.The NUCLEO-L476RG is powered by an STM32L4 Series MCU with ARM Cortex-M4 core operating at up to 64 MHz. The 32-bit ARM Cortex-M4 core features a floating point unit (FPU) and the device offers up to 1 MB of Flash memory and up to 160 KB of SRAM. The digital peripherals include 10 general purpose timers, a 12-bit ADC, 2 CAN interfaces, a UART, an I2C port, I2S, SPI, and USB-OTG interface.The NUCLEO-L476RG also includes a range of analog peripherals, such as a voltage reference, an external amplifiers, a DAC, a PGA, and a comparator. The board is highly integrated, containing all the necessary components needed to provide a complete evaluation and debugging environment for Arm Cortex-M4 based devices.The ST-LINK utility offers a range of features including debugging, programming and board configuration using the USB interface. It also supports the debugging of applications on the chip via the JTAG and SWD interfaces, and can also be used to interface with the board via the USB interface. The ST-LINK provides a range of tools, including the Code Warivor toolchain, which includes source code and APIs for C and C++ development.The NUCLEO-L476RG has two user buttons, two LEDs and a potentiometer that can be used to quickly develop and test projects. The board also contains an on-board ST-LINK/V2-1 debugger which can be used to debug applications.
