The STEVAL-LNBH02 is an evaluation board designed to explore the features of the LNBH02 low noise high efficiency 4A synchronous step-down switching regulator, used in DC/DC & AC/DC (Off-Line) SMPS applications. The LNBH02 is a highly integrated buck converter IC, capable of providing an output voltage of 0.8V to 5.5V with an efficiency rating up to 97%. The LNBH02 features a wide range of protection features such as over-voltage protection, over-temperature protection, soft start, and built-in current limit. It also includes a low-ripple output capacitor, allowing for optimized transient response and ripple suppression in a small PCB footprint.The STEVAL-LNBH02 is based on the LNBH02, a high-efficiency synchronous buck converter family with 4A output current. The high-efficiency architecture is suitable for applications that are required to maintain high output Voltage accuracy and low output ripple noise. The LNBH02 is capable of outputting a 0.8V to 5.5V output voltage with above-average accuracy. The high switching speed eliminates the need for a large output filter capacitor, further reducing PCB footprint size. The integrated compensation and inductor emulator feature simplifies design implementation and improves overall system stability.The STEVAL-LNBH02 evaluation board utilizes a 4A 4 layer layout and is designed to demonstrate the features of the LNBH02. The DC/DC & AC/DC (Off-Line) SMPS applications it supports include LED Lighting, Telecom systems, Home Appliances and Automated Control systems. The evaluation board supplies two inputs: an AC input for the AC/DC (Off-Line) applications, and a DC input for the DC/DC applications. The board further contains multiple jumpers and trimmers, for output voltage and current settings and for the loop compensation tuning. The component values used on the board are not optimized and can be further replaced if required.The board also includes a comprehensive evaluation software suite, PC-based graphical user interface, and intuitive software, that allows the evaluation of the 2-Phase and 3-Phase Voltage Mode control in DC/DC converters. It further enables the evaluation of 1-Phase Voltage mode control in AC/DC (Off-Line) applications. The evaluation software also allows the user to observe output voltage, ripple, and efficiency, as well as to switch operating modes and adjust conversion parameters.In summary, the STEVAL-LNBH02 evaluation board is a practical tool for quickly evaluating the features of the LNBH02 low noise high-efficiency 4A synchronous step-down switching regulator, used in DC/DC & AC/DC (Off-Line) SMPS applications. It allows for quick design implementation and is easily accessible to both hardware and software engineers.
