The TNY274PG is part of the TinySwitch-III series of integrated low power off-line switcher ICs built by Power Integrations. It features a thermal shutdown circuit that turns off and latches off the device if the IC temperature exceeds its safe operating range and a UL1446-compliant open circuit shutdown circuit which shuts down the device if the output voltage is exceeded and will remain latched off until the input voltage is removed.

The device also offers an overload protection circuit which shuts off the device if the average current consumption exceeds the specified limit and a short circuit protection circuit which prevents the device from shorting the output. Additionally, inrush limiting and current sense limit can be configured for diagnostics.
